THE GRAND LANDING
A film by
Thomas Anquetin
Cecile and Simon, about twenty-five years old, have been separated for six months. They decided to meet on a beach in Normandy to take stock of their relationship. In order to escape the rain that prevents them from talking, they take refuge in the nearest building: the D-Day Museum, which they come to visit. Unexpectedly, the objects, the buildings, the war images, the D-Day archives and de Gaulle's speech allow them to engage in conversation and to take a new look at their situation. The great history then resonates in their intimate history. Little by little, the idea is born in them that in order to love the other, one must let something land.
